Most residential installations are completed in a single day — typically 6 to 8 hours. Larger systems or those with battery storage may take two days. After installation, we handle all grid connection paperwork with your local network provider, which usually takes 1–2 weeks before your system is fully energised.
The right system size depends on your electricity usage, roof space, and budget. As a guide: a 6.6kW system suits most 1–3 person homes; a 13.2kW suits larger families or those with a pool or EV; 19.8kW+ suits large homes or high energy users. In most cases, no. Residential solar installations in NSW are classified as "exempt development" under the SEPP, meaning no development application (DA) is required. Exceptions can apply for heritage-listed properties or strata buildings. SimpliSolar handles all compliance and electrical inspector sign-offs as part of our service.
Our systems come with comprehensive warranty protection: 25 years on solar panels (product & performance), 10 years on hybrid inverters, 10 years on battery systems, and 10 years on our workmanship. Solar panels still generate power on cloudy days — typically 10–25% of their rated output, depending on cloud density. On clear Sydney days, your system will generate more than enough to cover usage. At night, your system draws from battery storage (if installed) and then the grid as a backup. With a battery, many customers use minimal grid power even overnight.
Absolutely. We retrofit battery storage to most existing solar systems, regardless of who installed them originally. In some cases, your current inverter may need to be upgraded to a hybrid inverter to support battery integration. The federal Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES) provides Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) that effectively reduce the upfront cost of your system — this discount is automatically applied in our pricing.
